Previously a senior engineer, Nguyen excels in user experience and accessibility, implementing features that ensure applications remain usable for individuals with disabilities such as color blindness or hearing impairments. She holds an undergraduate degree from PSU and is currently pursuing a master's degree at Georgia Tech to stay current with evolving technologies like AI. She advises young women entering the industry to make connections, join social clubs and programs, and complete internships, particularly reputable ones like the co-op at PSU, to build strong resumes early.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Thy

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to picking companies whose missions I believe in, like environmental impact, which keeps me motivated even when work gets boring or I feel burned out.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Make a lot of connections in the field, join social clubs and programs, do internships especially famous ones like co-op at PSU, so when you graduate your resume already has solid experience that helps pass HR screening easily.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenges are feeling like my voice isn't heard as much in a male-dominated field so I have to push myself more to prove my work, and keeping up with constantly updating technology like AI every year or risk being left behind, which is why I enrolled in a master's degree.
