Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tiana
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to God, my family, friends, and especially my husband. Their support, encouragement, and my faith have helped me persevere through challenges and keep moving forward.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
I believe the best career advice is to stay authentic and never forget who you are. Titles and career paths may change, but compassion, passion, and your core values should always remain at the center of what you do.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to keep learning, stay humble, advocate for yourself and others, and lead with compassion. Explore the many opportunities in healthcare, but choose this field because you genuinely care about helping people. Passion and compassion can turn a career into meaningful work.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of my biggest challenges is being highly experienced and multifaceted. With over 25 years of experience across healthcare, higher education, and business, I am sometimes viewed as overqualified for part-time opportunities. While my experience brings versatility and knowledge, it can also create assumptions about my salary expectations.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me are compassion, hard work, honesty, professionalism, trust, and leadership. I strive to make a positive impact by listening without judgment, offering honest guidance, and ensuring people feel seen, heard, and valued.
