Her Story
About Tiara
Tiara Washington is a registered nurse and entrepreneur based in Keller, Texas. With five years of experience as a registered nurse and three years in entrepreneurship alongside her husband, she founded Beyond Bedside Nursing, an IV clinic that she intends to grow into a comprehensive health and wellness center. Her vision includes bridging healthcare with the mental and spiritual spaces of individuals, informed by her strong faith. Washington earned a bachelor's degree in the science of nursing from Texas Tech and will begin pursuing a master's degree as a psych nurse practitioner in January. Prior to nursing, she worked in aerospace handling aircraft parts and in finance at American Express. She is also a minister actively involved in church outreach and the TPSC mission team, providing support such as clothing, financial resources, and food to the homeless in her community. Washington attributes her success to life experiences and the favor of God, and she values integrity, a moral compass, honesty, community, love, and compassion in both her professional and personal life.

01What do you attribute your success to?
Life experiences and God. I can only equate it to the favor of God, as I've been awarded positions that people my age never saw.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
If it makes you feel uncomfortable, then you're on the right track. You've got to get out of your comfort zone.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Be confident in your skills. Don't put a limit. When you dream, dream big. Always show up authentically as yourself. Always show up with compassion, love, and care. Don't ever allow anyone to tell you who you are. Know who you are, and stand on that.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
Challenges include individuals trying to force humility when they think you're doing too well. Opportunities in nursing are endless - you can go into law, finance, compliance, behavioral health, entrepreneurship. The skills under your license allow you to see needs and fix them.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, having a moral compass, honesty, having a strong foundation in the Lord, community, love, compassion.
