Her Story

About Tiera

I've been in financial services for 5 years, and I'm partnered with PHP Agency. My main areas of expertise are life insurance and retirement accounts. Before this, I worked in customer service at fast food chains, Walmart, and as a teller at a casino on swing shifts. After having surgery to remove my gallbladder, I was home recovering with my kids, and it hit me how much of their lives I was missing. I would put them on the bus in the morning, go back to sleep, then go to work and not get home until they were already in bed. That reflection on the memories I was missing made me look into entrepreneurship. I first tried being a travel agent working from home, but that didn't stick. Then I was prospecting on social media about making money and growing money, and I saw a presentation with PHP Agency. It just all made sense to me because you literally cannot say the right things to the wrong person or the wrong things to the right person. It fell in my lap when I needed it most. I was actually pregnant at the time with my now 4-year-old when I joined in March of 2021. What really drew me in was witnessing people making weekly or yearly salaries within a month's time, and the time freedom. But it's deeper than just the money. We are literally changing family legacies and putting people in a better position to actually enjoy life. We're very faith-driven, and this feels more like a calling than just a position. I love helping people because I know how it feels to not have help when you need it. Being that impactful piece that helps set somebody's family up, knowing I can make that kind of difference in somebody's whole life, that's what really made me tap into my why. The loss of my 16-year-old nephew in October 2021, who was shot and killed without life insurance, really drives me on my crusade now. I feel like I let him slip through the cracks, and that tragedy opened my eyes to how important this work is.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice that I would give young women entering my field today would be: Never forget your why. Always remember why you got started. Don't judge yourself about where you are today, because before you started, you prayed to be where you are today, so don't give up.
