Her Story

About Tierra

Tierra Covington is a Personal Branding and Executive Presence Consultant and the founder of The Posh House Consulting, based in Trussville, Alabama. With six years of experience in digital marketing, personal branding, and image consulting, she helps women in professional spaces build positive personal brands, strengthen their executive presence, and develop confident, polished professional images.

Covington transitioned to working full-time in her independent consulting business after recognizing a growing need for guidance in personal branding, professional image, and visibility. Her work extends beyond one-on-one consulting through education and content creation, including her recently launched Presence by Design membership program, which helps women strengthen their executive presence, personal brand, professional image, and visibility. The membership provides an accessible way for women to continue developing these skills and is available for $29 per month.

She earned a Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Alabama in May 2016, followed by a Certified Image Consulting credential from the Association of Image Consultants International (AICI) in 2018 and a second certification from IAP Career College in 2021. Her expertise has also led to opportunities to share her perspective publicly, including quarterly appearances on WBRC News, where she discusses fashion trends and professional image.

Covington attributes her success to resilience, adaptability, and a willingness to continually evolve. She approaches her work and personal life with a commitment to integrity, excellence, authenticity, growth, and impact. Through her consulting work, educational programs, and media presence, she continues to help women become more intentional about how they present themselves, build their professional identities, and increase their visibility.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tierra

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to resilience, adaptability, and my willingness to keep evolving. My career hasn’t followed a perfectly straight path, but every experience has taught me something that I’ve been able to carry into the next opportunity. I’ve learned to trust my abilities, invest in myself, and keep moving forward even when things don’t go according to plan.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don't wait for someone else to validate what you already know you're capable of.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell her to get clear on what she wants to be known for and build real expertise behind it. This work is about more than looking polished or building a social media presence, you have to understand people, perception, communication, branding, and business. Invest in your education, gain experience, develop your own point of view, and don’t be afraid to evolve as you learn. Most importantly, practice what you teach, your own presence and personal brand should be a reflection of the work you help others achieve.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges in my field is that personal branding and executive presence are often misunderstood as being solely about appearance or social media. In reality, they influence how professionals communicate, build credibility, develop leadership reputations, and position themselves for opportunities. At the same time, that creates a major opportunity. Organizations are recognizing that technical skills alone aren’t enough to prepare people for leadership. There’s a growing need to help professionals develop the communication, confidence, visibility, professional image, and leadership presence needed to succeed at the next level.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

My core values are integrity, excellence, authenticity, growth, and impact. I believe in doing what I say I’m going to do, staying true to who I am, and always striving to become better both personally and professionally. Most importantly, I want the work I do and the way I live my life to positively impact the people around me.
