Q

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to integrity - I always want to do the right thing and show up for people, because I know there have been times in my life where I've needed someone and there was no one. I'm always the strong, independent person, or the one that is reliable or dependable, but I genuinely like to be helpful. I think that comes with having integrity, just doing the right thing, doing something that even though it may be hard, you stay persistent and consistent, and just knowing that you did your best and you did what was right. I think that has helped me go so far in this career and in my life personally - just being a good person with a good foundation. I also have a natural, instinctive, almost motherly type of nature and personality. I'm always a true and genuine person - I cannot not be nice, or not be good, or not be honest. Sometimes it comes across very strong, like I'm hard, but I'm not. I think kindness is a very big thing - it's something that is so minute, but it has such a big impact.

Q

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say, first, allow yourself grace. There's always going to be a time of growth, and we may call that or refer to that as painful growth, or some people call it growing pains. Sometimes you do come across challenges and things that you feel like you can't get through, or you're never gonna understand, you're never gonna get, but allow yourself grace. And stick with it, just keep going. I always think of Dory from Nemo - just keep swimming, just keep swimming. You just gotta keep going, because you're gonna eventually get to wherever it is you're trying to go, and whatever you're meant to do in that process is going to get you even closer to your goal. So, grace, persistence, and just keep going.

Q

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, kindness, consistency, and genuinely wanting to help others are the values most important to me. I describe myself as dependable, caring, and naturally nurturing. I believe in doing the right thing even when it's hard, and staying persistent and consistent. I'm always a true and genuine person - I cannot not be nice, or not be good, or not be honest. I also believe strongly in the importance of persistence and giving yourself grace, especially during difficult growth periods. In my 40s now, I feel like I can only give positive energy and I can only receive positive energy - if it's not within that realm, then I can't do it. I would want someone to treat me the way I would treat them and be kind. Kindness is something that is so minute, but it has such a big impact.
