Her Story
About Tiffany
Tiffany Amos brings eight years of sales experience to her role as a logistics broker in her first year at CQL, where she is currently in her fifth month. She works with carriers on ocean, intermodal, air, and container shipments, certifying truck drivers through insurance validation and onboarding processes to protect customers from potential issues like theft or non-compliance. Prior to logistics, she sold cars on a 100 percent commission basis after college, where she was a Division I basketball athlete on a full-ride scholarship while majoring in criminal justice and minoring in sociology. She currently leads her entire starting group at CQL, a competitive environment with six months of dense training, and credits her family, particularly her single mother who raised three daughters, along with writing down goals since 2023, for her success. Amos emphasizes consistency, waking early for optional prospecting, humility, and treating others with kindness as key to navigating the cyclical nature of sales.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tiffany
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family, especially my mom who raised three daughters as a single parent. My sisters are also succeeding, one in real estate and recruiting, the other in dental school. I also believe in writing down goals, which I started doing in 2023 after seeing a mentor's success with it. Believing in yourself and having a supportive community helps you reinvent your story.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice is don't get too cocky, never think you can't improve. Don't get too comfortable because peaks have valleys. Life is cyclical, celebrate wins but stay humble. Treat others how you want to be treated, be considerate and kind. Being a good person matters, and don't toot your own horn too much.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't assume anything comes easy. There's work behind anything worthwhile. Easy money isn't as valuable as earned money because easy come, easy go. Have discipline. God won't bless you with abundance if you're not prepared to handle it responsibly. Do it the right way the first time and pass the tests life gives you.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is consistency. You can have a great run but lose steam when things are good. In sales, remind yourself to keep going. Wake up before 5 AM for optional prospecting even if not necessary, to avoid getting comfortable. I haven't missed a day in 8 weeks. Help lift the team without discouraging others.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My mantra is don't lie, don't cheat, don't steal. If you lead with your heart and choose to be a leader, you won't lead people into trouble. Honor commitments, like showing up when you say you will. Be cautious with trust but follow through. We're all human with choices between right and wrong.
