About Tiffany

Tiffany Martinez is an Executive Director and Family-Centered Coach at HRI Community Resources, Inc., with more than 17 years of experience in education, affordable housing, and community services. Tiffany began her professional journey as an educator after earning a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education and Teaching from Central Michigan University, with a focus on health education and coaching and an English minor. While she eventually moved beyond the traditional classroom setting, she has continued to serve as an educator through coaching, mentoring, and empowering individuals and families to recognize their strengths and potential.

Tiffany has dedicated her career to strengthening communities through resident-focused programs and family-centered approaches. Before joining HRI Community Resources, she spent 15 years with Operation Pathways, serving in roles including Resident Services Coordinator and Regional Manager & Lead Family-Centered Coach. Her work centers on helping communities identify and build upon the strengths they already possess, creating partnerships that encourage personal growth, leadership, and long-term success. As a Certified Family-Centered Coach through The Prosperity Agenda, Tiffany focuses on listening first, honoring each family’s unique journey, and supporting individuals as they work toward their own goals.

Tiffany is recognized for developing the Community Ambassador Program, an initiative that empowers residents across more than 20 communities to take on leadership roles, organize community activities, and create stronger neighborhood connections. Her dedication to improving lives through education, wellness, and community engagement earned her the Healthy Hero Award from the City of New Orleans. Through her involvement with organizations such as the LSU AgCenter Community Coalition and the Nonprofit Alliance Association, Tiffany continues to advocate for collaboration, resident empowerment, and opportunities that help families and communities thrive.

Ten minutes with Tiffany

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is to lead with empathy. Put yourself in others’ shoes before making assumptions, because understanding and compassion create stronger connections and opportunities.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Affordable housing faces significant challenges, including rising costs, reduced support for low-income families, and the increasing need for accurate information. These challenges also create opportunities for greater collaboration. By combining the strengths of different organizations, we can maximize resources and create stronger outcomes for the communities we serve.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide me in both my work and personal life are empathy, connection, and the belief that everyone deserves support and opportunity. My experience as an adopted person taught me that every journey is unique and that having someone believe in you can make a lasting impact. This perspective shapes how I build relationships, lead with compassion, and support others in reaching their full potential.
