Her Story
About Tiffany
I've been working as a shipping lead for about 7 years now. It's a step down from shipping manager, and I lead a few people in my department. On a typical Monday, which is usually our busiest day, I go in and check my computer, logging into what we call SAGE, which is a computer-generated database. I write down what needs to be pulled, and if something needs to be run on the line to be made right away, I go to my boss and coordinate scheduling. I accumulate all that information and send off an email saying this is what we're doing, this is the plan for shipping. Then I go pull my product, repack it as needed, and set it to the side for shipping. After that, I go back into the shipping office and find the cheapest, best pricing for the customer. I got into this field because nobody else in the building knew how to use a computer. Before this, I used to sew, which I learned in high school. My greatest challenge on a day-to-day basis is not having the product when it's needed. My most notable professional achievement has been learning more about the computer software that we use at work, and people tell me to keep up the good work.
