Her Story

About Tiffany

I've been in real estate development for about the last 3 years, and I currently wear many hats in my role. We're closing out projects and kicking off new ones in the development process, and I oversee everything from the kickoff of the project through groundbreaking, then through construction and completion. My daily responsibilities include obtaining proposals for geotechnical work, Phase 1s, civil and structural plans, as well as architectural work. I conduct feasibility analysis and participate in meetings - we have weekly meetings for projects, but something is happening daily. I also handle accounting on a daily basis, and there's lots of cleanup work. Right now, we're focusing mostly on commercial and light industrial projects, and multifamily development. Before joining Tremont, I worked for D.R. Horton's family side for a couple of years, and I think my biggest accomplishment there would be all the projects that we completed and were able to kick off. It's been a little bit slower process here at Tremont since it's a lot smaller than D.R. Horton, but a lot more learning has gone on, and I'm filling in a lot of the blanks here.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tiffany

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my grandmother. She's been a pretty good motivator for us throughout the years.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was probably going back to when I was younger, and they said, go to college when you're young, and not when you're old, so that it doesn't take you five years to get an associate's degree.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I guess just to always be prepared and to not be hesitant to go forward in the construction field, because it's a men-oriented field. Just stick with it and keep learning.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The biggest challenge is that, again, it kind of goes to working with men in this world. It's a lot that you have to learn to work with them. But there's so many opportunities right now, and room for growth, so I'm just excited about all the opportunity that this field has.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Honesty and integrity.
