About Tiffany

I'm a strategic account consultant with DEX Imaging, where I've been for 3 years. Before joining DEX Imaging, I worked at City Social. In my current role, I work with different types of businesses across various industries and sizes, focusing on understanding their unique needs when it comes to printers and copiers. I really try to take a comprehensive look at each company to see what their needs would be, whether they're at a place where they want to learn about going digital, automating some of their processes, or exploring different types of software that we help deploy to printers and assist with reporting. My key responsibilities include managing customer accounts to make sure everything is handled smoothly, while also actively pursuing new business for DEX Imaging. I always try to be proactive, taking the time to explain setups to customers and what we can do to prevent issues. By having quarterly meetings with them, I'm really able to stay up to date on their accounts, which helps in the long run. One of the things I value most is making sure that if there's an issue with a customer, it doesn't go to the wayside - I want to make sure my customers are handled appropriately. What's really great about this work is the opportunity to help businesses uncover areas they might not pay attention to, like their print expense, and show them what they're actually spending. I also love that DEX Imaging gives one-third of its profits back to nonprofits, which allows me to help different organizations through sponsorships. It's a great opportunity to give back to nonprofits that are near and dear to my heart or to people I'm doing business with.

Ten minutes with Tiffany

01What do you attribute your success to?

I believe that failure is just the opportunity to start over again, but this time more educated. In the job that I do, I get told no a lot - whether I make a cold call and they hang up and tell me no, or we get told no for a deal. You just have to always keep pushing forward and not give up. I also focus on being proactive with my customers, making sure that if there's an issue, it doesn't go to the wayside. I want to make sure my customers are handled appropriately. By taking the time to really understand each account and having quarterly meetings with them, I'm able to stay up to date, which helps in the long run. I've learned that it's not just about pricing - it's really about the value and showing people that it's more than just a price tag.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

My favorite piece of advice is knowing that failure is just the opportunity to start over again, but this time more educated. In my work, I get told no a lot - whether I make a cold call and they hang up and tell me no, or we get told no for a deal. You just have to always keep pushing forward and not give up. This mindset has really helped me stay resilient in sales.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the greatest opportunities in this field is being able to take a look at a business, no matter the size, and help them in different ways. What's really great is the opportunity to see that a lot of people don't pay attention to something so small, which could be their print expense. When you uncover this with the company, they realize what they're actually doing, and it really opens up their mind. It's also a great opportunity to help businesses with their expenses. DEX Imaging gives one-third of its profits back to nonprofits, so I've been able to help different organizations through sponsorships, which is really meaningful. Any type of sponsorship a nonprofit can get is going to help, so it's a great opportunity to give back to nonprofits that are near and dear to your heart or to people you're doing business with. As for challenges, sometimes it can be really challenging when someone takes on a new role and I get a new account - just trying to make sure we're both on the same page can be time-consuming. When I'm trying to get new business and I don't have a relationship with that person, it tends to be very hard to earn that business, because sometimes it's not just about pricing, it's really about the value and who DEX is. I really try to let people see that it's more than just a price tag.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

I always try to make sure that if there's an issue with a customer, it doesn't go to the wayside - I want to make sure my customers are handled appropriately. I try to be proactive, really taking the time to explain to customers what the setup is going to be like and how we can prevent issues. By having quarterly meetings with them, I'm really able to stay up to date on their accounts, which helps in the long run. I also value being able to give back - what's really great about working at DEX Imaging is that we give one-third of our profits back to nonprofits, so I can help different organizations through sponsorships. It's important to me to support nonprofits that are near and dear to my heart or to people I'm doing business with.
