Her Story
About Tiffany
Tiffany Sierra is a culinary professional with a well-rounded background in hospitality, healthcare food service, and high-volume kitchen leadership. She began her career in the serving industry at a young age, working breakfast service and banquet operations, while participating in leadership development programs early on. Her passion for leadership development and community engagement was cultivated through a family legacy of service. As the granddaughter of one of the founding members of the APM, one of the first Latino nonprofits created in the city of Philadelphia. She learned early that meaningful leadership is measured by the impact it has on others—a principle that continues to guide her professional and community work today.
Through these experiences this led her to begin teaching IT and business proposal development in bilingual classroom settings, where she developed a strong passion for hospitality and service-oriented leadership around the age of 20.. She went on to build a diverse foundation in healthcare and hospitality operations, starting at Jefferson Hospital as a transporter before advancing through roles as a dishwasher, waitress, and eventually into culinary production. Tiffany refined her skills as a line cook and Sous Chef at Cavanaugh’s and Rivers Casino Philadelphia, where she developed expertise in scratch cooking and high-volume kitchen execution under respected culinary leadership. Her career continued to grow as she advanced into supervisory and leadership roles within both casino and healthcare environments. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, Tiffany launched Cocina Sierra LLC, expanding her entrepreneurial experience while continuing to grow in leadership roles. She served as Sous Chef at Valley Forge Casino Resort, contributing to the opening and development of breakfast operations. She later worked at Temple Health – Temple University Health System, where she improved operational systems and implemented cost-saving initiatives that enhanced departmental efficiency
She has since returned to Valley Forge Casino Resort, where she is focused on building strong culinary teams, enhancing staff engagement, and developing future leaders within the kitchen.
