Her Story

About Tiffany

I have been in my industry for over 10 and a half years, and the journey has been amazing. I love everything I do. I work for Boys and Girls Clubs of America, and everything we do is youth-centered. My day-to-day changes, but mostly it starts with waking up early and just looking at my calendar, prepping ahead of time for the meetings that I need to prep for, ensuring that I have time to sit down and think through digital growth strategy. Then it's time to kick-start the day with meetings - lots of meetings, lots of talking, lots of interacting, but that's the fun part, is the meetings, and then getting to see everything come to life. Currently, my key responsibilities are lots of special projects. I assist very closely with our senior social media manager, so lots of brainstorming of ideas. Recently, we just launched our Blue Couch Conversations podcast that I led out on, and that's really just a youth-centered podcast that's really amazing. We launched it with Jordan Thompson. A lot of responsibilities include peer-to-peer lead generation, but that can actually really change day to day based on what is needed from our digital team. I love the creativity that marketing brings. I love that every day I get to flex a different part of my brain, and I get to see that immediate impact. I get to see how people react to it pretty quickly, and that's pretty incredible.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tiffany

01What do you attribute your success to?

I would say my success, and attribute it to my husband, and just having a very strong support system and partner in him, always pushing me to go for the next biggest thing. Because of his encouragement, I'm completing my doctorate in business admin. So, he has always been a strong supporter of everything I do.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

To stay curious, and to always continue to ask questions. The only limit or only ceiling that can be placed over you is the one you place over yourself, and that usually happens when you start to believe that you know everything and stop asking the right questions.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

To continue finding your voice. And ensure that you bring that voice to the table with you every day. You never know who's thinking the same thing that you're thinking, or who has the same question, but shrinking yourself to fit into a room so you don't seem bold, or you don't seem like you have ideas, is not the way to go.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

I think there's tons of opportunities for innovators, people that think outside the box and are bringing something new to marketing. I think the challenge is finding a way to reinvent the wheel without reinventing the wheel. So doing things that have been done, but finding a different way to do them so that it still feels fresh, even though it's been done a million times.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In work, it's doing what you say you're going to do. If we've agreed on a deadline, or you're taking on a certain project, just come through on what you say you will do. Same thing in personal life, but more so leading with your actions. Words are great, but what you do to back up those words matters even more.
