I attribute my success to embracing opportunities as they came, starting from an associate degree in biology and working my way up from a front desk supervisor to managing complex healthcare operations at UPMC, all while focusing on mentoring and supporting the people around me.

My advice to young women entering healthcare administration is to stay flexible and prioritize your well-being. This field moves fast, so cultivate boundaries, build strong support networks, and show up fully present—your focus and dedication will drive success both professionally and personally.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenges in healthcare right now are rising costs, changing insurance landscapes, and staff retention, all while maintaining high-quality patient care. At the same time, these challenges present opportunities to innovate, streamline processes, and improve patient experiences.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values most important to me in work and life are compassion, empathy, and approachability. I prioritize mentoring, giving back, and supporting others’ growth, while also making time for personal well-being, reflection, and maintaining my core principles amidst the demands of healthcare.
