What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the lessons I’ve learned from my failures. Each setback motivates me to push harder, refine my approach, and strive for better results. I also credit my success to setting clear goals and creating actionable plans to achieve them.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve ever received came from my mentor, Dr. Riggs, who told me, “I wish you would see what I see. Remember who you are and whose you are.” This guidance has stayed with me throughout my career, reminding me to trust my abilities, stay grounded in my values, and lead with confidence and purpose.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I would advise young women entering my industry to first ensure they are pursuing a path they truly want. It’s equally important to prioritize self-care and maintain your mental health, as these are essential for long-term success and fulfillment in any career.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges in my field right now is managing countertransference, as it can be difficult to “turn off” and separate personal emotions from professional responsibilities. At the same time, this challenge presents an opportunity to develop stronger self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and coping strategies that ultimately enhance the quality of care and professional growth.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are hard work, determination, and family. These principles guide my decisions, shape my relationships, and motivate me to persevere through challenges while staying grounded in what truly matters.
