With over a decade of experience in procurement and supply chain management, Tina has developed a deep expertise in embedding Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) principles into global supply chains. At EcoVadis, she partners with Fortune 500 companies across high-impact industries such as pharmaceuticals, chemicals, medical devices, and oil & gas to transform ESG compliance from a regulatory necessity into a strategic business advantage.

Throughout her career, Tina has successfully led initiatives that drive supplier decarbonization, reduce operational risks, and deliver measurable return on investment for her clients. Her work extends beyond execution to include extensive stakeholder engagement, continuous training, and thought leadership in sustainable procurement practices. Tina’s passion lies in making sustainability the business norm today, recognizing it not just as a trend, but as a vital imperative for the future of business and the planet.

Tina holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, where she was inducted into the prestigious Golden Key Honour Society, and earned a Sustainability Leadership Certificate from Rutgers University. She is also a Mandela Washington Fellow, reflecting her commitment to leadership and social impact. Outside of her professional life, Tina is a dedicated volunteer, supporting initiatives around social justice and community development, and balances her career with her role as a new mother who loves traveling and reading in her free time.

What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the strong family values and work ethic I developed growing up in South Africa. My career in supply chain has been driven by a commitment to efficiency, profitability, and sustainability, ensuring products move responsibly while protecting the environment. I've had the honor of receiving awards such as the 2018 Mandela Washington Fellowship and the 2024 MVP Value Champion Award, and I stay connected to my community through volunteer work at my local organizations.

What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to do what you’re passionate about, even on your worst day. Passion is what keeps you moving forward when things get tough, and it’s what makes the hard work meaningful and worthwhile.

What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women entering this industry is simple: never give up. There will be challenges, but persistence, confidence, and staying true to your goals will carry you through. Believe in your value and keep pushing forward, you belong in the room.

What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges, and opportunities, in my field right now is staying continuously updated through regular training and engaging with multiple stakeholders. This involves internal training sessions, extensive research, and attending external seminars to keep ahead of industry trends and improve supply chain practices. It’s a dynamic environment that demands constant learning and adaptation.

What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values most important to me in both my work and personal life are balance, family, and continuous growth. As a new mom, I cherish spending quality time with my husband and daughter. I also love to travel and enjoy diving into a good book whenever I can, which helps me stay inspired and refreshed.
