Her Story

About Tina

Tina Stackhouse is an Automation Operations Manager in the oil and gas industry, known for her hands-on leadership, operational expertise, and ability to drive results in fast-paced, technical environments. Based in Shawnee, Oklahoma, she leads the automation division at Global Production Solutions, where she oversees engineers and field technicians, supports sales efforts, manages purchasing and logistics, and ensures customer issues are resolved efficiently. Her role is multifaceted—ranging from troubleshooting equipment failures to coordinating parts, managing billing, and maintaining strong relationships with both customers and vendors.

Tina’s path into the industry was anything but traditional. She spent nearly 16 years in landscaping and turf management, where she built her own company and ultimately advanced to Director of Operations for a university’s facilities management department. Recognizing the physical demands of that work, she made a strategic pivot by returning to school to earn her business degree and continuing on to complete her MBA. She initially joined GPS in an accounting role, but a temporary opportunity in the automation department quickly evolved into a long-term career shift. Nearly a decade later, she has grown into a leadership position, combining her business acumen with technical operations to drive performance across the division.

What sets Tina apart is her willingness to take ownership at every level and her ability to thrive in a role that requires constant adaptability. She embraces wearing multiple hats—whether that means managing teams, handling logistics, or personally ensuring equipment is properly prepared and delivered. She values continuous learning, accountability, and integrity, and is known for her proactive approach to problem-solving. In an industry that often demands both precision and speed, Tina’s leadership reflects a balance of technical expertise, strong work ethic, and a commitment to doing the job right from start to finish.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to curiosity and a commitment to continuous learning. I’m not afraid to ask questions or admit when I don’t know something, because that’s how I grow and learn. I’ve always believed in understanding the “why” behind what I’m doing, and that mindset, combined with hard work, has helped me move forward in my career.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best advice I’ve received is to stay curious and remember that hard work is rewarded. If you’re willing to learn, stay engaged, and put in the effort, opportunities will follow.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

My advice to young women considering a caree in this industry is to be confident in your abilities and never stop learning. Oil and Gas, especially automation, is a field where technical knowledge, problem-solving, and adaptability are highly valued. Build a strong foundation through education, but also trust your instincts and apply common sense in real-world situations. Don't be intimidated by challenges or by being the only woman in the room; your perspective is valuable. Stay curious, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to grow. This industry rewards those who are willing to work hard, think critically and continuously improve.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is the volatility of oil prices, which can directly impact how much customers are willing to spend. At the same time, there’s a huge opportunity to grow—especially in expanding automation capabilities, increasing product offerings, and reaching customers on a global scale. There’s a lot of room for innovation and growth in this space.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that matter most to me are continuous improvement, integrity, accountability, and respect. I believe in doing the right thing, taking ownership of my work, and always striving to be better than I was yesterday. Those principles guide how I lead, how I work with others, and how I approach every challenge.
