Her Story
About Tina
Tina Story built a distinguished career in IT spanning more than 25 years, beginning with programming after attending a technical institute in Canada and advancing into leadership roles in business analysis and product management. Throughout her career, she developed expertise in Agile, Scrum, and Scaled Agile methodologies, using these frameworks to lead complex, multi-million-dollar initiatives across cross-functional teams. Her ability to combine strategic vision, analytical thinking, and collaborative leadership enabled her to successfully guide organizations through technology transformations, product development, and process improvements. Following a breast cancer diagnosis more than six years ago, Tina applied the same research-driven mindset and problem-solving approach that shaped her professional career to her personal health journey. Through extensive research and a holistic strategy, she transformed her experience into a powerful story of resilience, critical thinking, and self-advocacy. Three years ago, Tina stepped away from her corporate career to focus on writing her memoir, Finding the Radical Healer Inside, which explores her journey through cancer and the lessons learned from applying a product management approach to personal transformation. She has completed the manuscript after many months in writing workshops and plans to self-publish the book by the end of the year. In addition to her professional and writing pursuits, Tina is a certified Functional Medicine Health Coach and remains committed to lifelong learning and community impact. She serves as a certified organizer and scheduler for 1 Million Cups in Clayton, Georgia, supporting entrepreneurs and fostering meaningful connections within the community. Tina also dedicates time to animal rescue efforts, where she originally used her storytelling skills to create personality profiles to help pets find loving adoptive homes. Through technology, writing, wellness, and service, Tina continues to use her skills and experiences to inspire, educate, and make a positive difference.

Ten minutes with Tina
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to perseverance, a strong sense of purpose, and my ability to apply disciplined product management systems to even the most complex and creative challenges. Throughout my career, I have relied on critical thinking, curiosity, and determination to solve problems, whether leading enterprise technology initiatives or writing my memoir. Remaining committed to my purpose and trusting the process has allowed me to continue moving forward through every challenge.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
If you're writing a book, be clear about the transformation your story is meant to convey—understand who you were before your defining experience and who you became because of it. You may not have all the answers when you begin, but writing itself is often the process of discovering them. Be patient with yourself, embrace the struggle as part of the journey, and approach your work with intention and discipline. Like any successful project, meaningful writing benefits from thoughtful planning, persistence, and a willingness to grow throughout the process.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I believe one of the greatest challenges in healthcare is navigating an overwhelming, profit-driven system that can make it difficult for individuals to take ownership of their health decisions. At the same time, there is a tremendous opportunity to empower people through education, critical thinking, and informed holistic approaches that address the body's ability to heal. With authorship, one of the biggest challenges is that the majority of aspiring authors who set out to write a book never finish their manuscripts. However, the growth of self-publishing has created exciting opportunities for writers to bring their stories directly to readers with greater independence and creative control.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value ownership, empowerment, curiosity, critical thinking, perseverance, and living with a clear sense of purpose. I believe people achieve their greatest potential when they take responsibility for their decisions, remain open to learning, ask thoughtful questions, and approach challenges with resilience. These principles guide both my professional work and my personal journey.
