About Tingting
Tingting Wu is a concert pianist, composer, educator, and the Founder of LumiMusic, bringing more than 20 years of experience to her career in music. She began her professional piano training at a young age in China before moving to the United States to pursue advanced musical studies. Wu studied at the New England Conservatory of Music, completing her program in 2012, and later earned a master’s degree in Piano Performance from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music on a full scholarship and stipend while serving as a teaching assistant. After relocating to Miami, she continued her academic journey and earned a Doctor of Musical Arts in Music from the University of Miami in 2023. In addition to performing classical, film, and modern music, Wu is also a composer who creates original works and presents them through LumiMusic, an innovative concert experience she founded approximately two years ago. LumiMusic combines live piano performance with colored lighting, visual elements, and storytelling to create an immersive experience designed to make music more accessible and engaging to the general public. Through this innovative approach, Wu seeks to connect audiences with music in new ways while demonstrating the powerful relationship between sound, color, emotion, and imagination. Beyond her work as a concert pianist and entrepreneur, Wu serves as a pianist every Sunday at Church in Miami and remains dedicated to continuous self-development, artistic growth, and building meaningful professional relationships. Her career reflects a commitment to lifelong learning, creative innovation, and using music as a way to inspire and connect with diverse audiences. Through her performances, compositions, teaching, and work with LumiMusic, Wu continues to expand the possibilities of the traditional concert experience.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering my industry is to surround themselves with great people and intentionally build strong, meaningful professional relationships. Early in your career, especially before the age of 30, prioritize personal and professional growth, expand your network, seek out mentors and supportive colleagues, and focus on developing the skills and connections that will help shape your future. Building a strong professional foundation and investing in yourself can create opportunities and lasting success that extend far beyond the early stages of your career.
02What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are kindness, healthy boundaries, and continuous self-development. I believe in treating others with compassion while also understanding the importance of protecting my own time, energy, and well-being. I also value taking the time to establish and understand myself before dedicating myself to others or making major life commitments. Exploring who you are, investing in personal growth, and building a strong foundation within yourself are essential steps toward creating a fulfilling and authentic life.
