Her Story

About Tiphanie

Tiphanie Ortiz is an accomplished Operations Manager in logistics and warehousing at Amazon, bringing more than a decade of experience in operations, safety, compliance, quality, and team leadership. She entered the logistics field after leaving boot camp in 2013, beginning her career through a staffing agency in Tier 1 roles supporting Amazon before advancing into operations administration and management. Her career progression reflects her strong work ethic, adaptability, and commitment to continuous professional growth. Ortiz later served as an Assets Protection Operations Manager at Walmart in the Des Moines, Iowa area, where she strengthened her skills in self-initiative, problem-solving, loss prevention, and operational analysis. During her tenure, she developed forms and processes that contributed to reducing district losses. After returning to Amazon, Ortiz expanded her leadership experience by helping launch approximately six facilities across Florida and Virginia. She is currently involved in her sixth building launch and oversees a team of approximately 2,000 associates, while also supporting the development and advancement of employees into leadership positions. Ortiz earned a degree in Computer Science from Ithaca College in 2019, an education that complemented her analytical and technology-focused responsibilities in assets protection. She is currently pursuing a degree in Business Management, with an expected graduation in 2027, further strengthening her business and leadership expertise. Beyond her professional career, Ortiz is the founder of the Pocono Frost Women’s Football Foundation, an organization dedicated to supporting and empowering girls and women interested in football. Her areas of specialization include operations management, logistics and warehousing, safety and compliance, quality assurance, loss prevention, process improvement, team leadership, facility launches, and leadership development.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tiphanie

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to motivation, perseverance, and the encouragement of the people who believe in me. There have been times when I felt overwhelmed and questioned whether I could keep going, but I have always found a way to push forward. My wife, whom I met early in my career, has been one of my greatest sources of encouragement and motivation. Whenever I have felt like giving up or reached a point where I thought I was done, she has reminded me of my capabilities and encouraged me to keep moving forward. Her support, along with my own determination, has taught me to stay resilient, embrace challenges, and continue striving for growth. Along with my mother and father who have never given up on me through all my trials and tribulations.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received was from a mentor in high school who encouraged me to understand that challenges and difficult moments are temporary. At the time, I believed the military was the only career path for me, and when she learned that I was leaving, she reminded me that no matter how difficult a situation may feel, it will eventually pass. Her words taught me not to allow setbacks, criticism, or challenging circumstances to define my future. I carry that lesson with me throughout my career today: keep moving forward, trust the process, and remember that difficult seasons are temporary.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would tell young women to never wait until they feel completely ready to take an opportunity. Some of the biggest opportunities come when you’re still learning and growing. Be confident enough to walk into spaces where you may be the only woman in the room, ask questions, build relationships, and never be afraid to advocate for yourself. Most importantly, remember that leadership isn’t about having all the answers, it’s about being willing to learn, adapt, and create opportunities for yourself and others.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges is creating more opportunities for women, particularly in leadership and sports. Women’s sports are growing tremendously, but there is still a gap in resources, visibility, sponsorship, and investment compared with men’s sports. I also see that challenge as one of our greatest opportunities. There is so much room to build programs, organizations, and platforms that give women the chance to compete, lead, and be recognized. That is a major part of what motivates me as I continue developing Pocono Frost and creating something that can have a lasting impact in the community.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, resilience, accountability, and creating opportunities for others are the values that guide me most. I believe in doing the right thing even when no one is watching, holding myself accountable, and continuing to push forward when things become difficult. I also value family and community because success means more to me when I can use it to create opportunities for others. Whether I’m leading professionally, building something of my own, or supporting the people around me, I want my work to leave a positive impact and show other women that they can create their own path rather than waiting for someone to create one for them.
