Her Story
About TiQuisha
TiQuisha Hines serves as Regional Vice President at Primerica, where she has spent 17 years in the financial services industry. Her entry into the field was prompted by a family tragedy involving her grandfather's life insurance policy, which led her to study the industry and help her own family secure proper financial plans. In addition to her role at Primerica, where she is a leader on the Board of Directors for Women in Primerica and in the African American Leadership Council, Hines founded Gloria Zion Global Ministries, a nonprofit that provides resources and support to underserved communities through initiatives like RV-based outreach and conferences. She also volunteers with United Way and Girl Scouts organizations in Atlanta and Indiana. Hines attributes her success to her faith and the strong work ethic demonstrated by her mother and grandmother.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with TiQuisha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my faith first and foremost. Watching strong women in my life like my mother and grandmother who worked multiple jobs but couldn't enjoy the fruits of their labor inspired me to create a different path with more freedom and impact for myself and future generations.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I received was to go where you're celebrated, not just tolerated, have the greatest impact, and not be driven by money alone. Make sure when you wake up you're happy doing what you're doing.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
In this space it's all about impacting the lives of other people. You don't have to compromise. You can have freedom and flexibility, the income you desire, and a life you feel proud about because you made an impact.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The biggest challenge is belief, support, and leadership - having someone to guide you, proper mentors, and accountability in this 1099 independent industry where people can be left to sink or swim.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Faith, family, and then my career in that order.
