Her Story
About Tisha
All my life, it's been about helping people. I am passionate and desire to see people healed in every area of their life. When I do something, I'm doing it because I want to make an impact in people's lives. I became a life coach in 2011 to help people reach their goals. I have the opportunity to work with brain injury clients that have hired me to help in their everyday life, which is where the self-development piece comes in. As a survivor of sexual abuse, I started a support group a long time ago to help women that have had that experience heal and overcome. I just released a book called 'Dealing with the Offense of the Betrayal, Healing When Trust is Broken,' which is a healing journal that helps anybody who reads it begin to heal from the hurts and what people did or what happened, so they can walk in their true destiny. I understand that sometimes when we've been wounded and hurt, those things can keep us back because we can't push past the hurt, the offense, or what the person did. That's what my book is about, and that's the heart of me - to help people and bring an impact in their lives. When I'm working with somebody, I'm just here to help you reach your goal. I offer one-on-one coaching and group coaching up to 10 people, with different packages from one-time sessions to 12-week sessions. I don't just talk - I give tools that people can use for the rest of their life to work through different situations, and I'm by their side every step of the way. I have a nonprofit organization that works with survivors of human sex trafficking, and I've gone into drug treatment centers and women's recovery centers to pour into women there. I also have a mortgage and lender background from the 90s and became a housing counselor through the Urban League of Kansas. I'm not just book smart - I'm coming from where I can say I've been in your shoes, I know exactly where you're at, and I'm able to give guidance in that way.

01What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Helping people heal is at the core of everything I do. My ministry is healing because I healed from things in my life, and I wanted to pay it forward. That's my passion, that's my desire, that's my heart. If you ask anybody about me, they're gonna say that I'm a person that gives 110% because I want to make sure that people are healed. A lot of times, people don't know how to heal, so I use my lived experience to help people along the way. I love wisdom and I've always found myself sitting around or listening to people that were older than me, because I found wisdom in their stories. I love learning and I believe that you always learn something new every day, but you have to keep yourself open to learning. I'm very big on self-care, and definitely in my 50s now, I've learned how to do a lot more self-care and pull away so I can regroup and refresh. I love serenity and spending time in peaceful places. Being on the go and busyness don't make you successful - you have to pull back and pull into you so that you can continue to climb up where you're trying to go. I'm never really worried about recognition - I wanted to see the work done. I always say if one person receives or heals from what I pour out, I did my job.
