My "no" moment came when I avoided a tech career out of fear. Saying yes anyway taught me that growth lives on the other side of our most certain plans.

Her Story

About T'Juana

For T'Juana Albert, leadership has never been about fitting into the mold. It's about reshaping it.

Over a 25+ year career at the intersection of technology, operations, and human transformation, T'Juana has been the steady force behind major organizational change by guiding global teams through mergers and acquisitions, building enterprise-wide compliance and IT security frameworks, and embedding AI-driven solutions that make businesses more agile and resilient. As Vice President of Business Integration & Assurance at GumGum, she operates at the highest levels of strategic decision-making while keeping people (not just processes) at the center of every initiative.

Her work is grounded in a belief she returns to again and again: operational excellence and human connection aren't opposites. They are the foundation of everything that lasts.

Outside corporate walls, T'Juana brings that same energy to Suits & Pajamas, her memoir, podcast, and growing movement for women in leadership. She is the author of Suits & Pajamas: A Memoir of Grace, Grit & Becoming, she shares her own story with unflinching honesty, tracing the path from early adversity to executive leadership and everything in between. T'Juana brings that same energy to her podcast Suits & Pajamas. Each episode is an invitation to show up fully: to talk honestly about the invisible load women carry, to challenge the hustle culture that masquerades as ambition, and to reimagine what success looks and feels like when it's built on wholeness, not performance. As an author and mentor, she challenges women to own their brilliance, protect their peace, and lead with both power and purpose.

T'Juana's voice is grounded, powerful, and deeply nurturing and she has become a beacon for women who are learning to lead authentically and live fully. She doesn't just talk about transformation. She engineers it, in boardrooms and beyond.

Ten minutes with T'Juana

01What do you attribute your success to?

My success wasn't built overnight, it was forged in every challenge I refused to let define me.

Growing up having to create my own sense of belonging taught me things no classroom could: resilience, self-belief, and the quiet, unrelenting power of perseverance. Those early experiences didn't break me. The foundation of who I am is rooted in empathy, intention, and an unshakable commitment to lead with both strength and grace.

At the center of everything I do is people. Whether guiding global teams through M&A integrations, navigating complex cultural change, or mentoring women who are just finding their footing in leadership, my focus has always been the same — create environments where trust and excellence don't compete, they coexist.

I've learned that real leadership isn't about control. It's about clarity, connection, and the courage to stay the course even when the path isn't clear.

I attribute my success to three things: the discipline to keep learning, the courage to remain authentically myself, and the unwavering commitment to lift others as I rise. Through my work, my mentorship, and Suits & Pajamas: A Memoir of Grace, Grit & Becoming, I want every woman to know that you don't have to trade your peace for your power. You can build both — and you deserve both.

My journey is living proof that when you lead from purpose and operate with heart, success stops being just an achievement. It becomes a legacy.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I’ve ever received is to never underestimate what I can achieve without a degree. It reminded me that though I highly respect and appreciate formal education, my determination, hard work, and willingness to remain curious opened many doors for me that had previously been closed.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is this: you can’t scale what you can’t simplify. Take the time to master the complexity of your work, then learn how to make it understandable and actionable for others. True leadership comes from not only excelling yourself but also empowering those around you to grow and succeed.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges (and opportunities) in my field right now is the rapid advancement of artificial intelligence. AI is transforming how we work, make decisions, and connect with others. While it presents challenges in adapting to new systems and ensuring ethical use, it also offers tremendous opportunities to enhance efficiency, drive innovation, and unlock new levels of insight and creativity. Those who embrace and understand this technology will be well-positioned to lead the future.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Authenticity, purpose-driven leadership, and service are the values that guide everything I do. I believe in showing up as my full, genuine self by leading with integrity and inspiring others through action, not words. Service is at the heart of how I lead and live. Whether it’s my team, clients, or community, I believe in listening deeply, supporting others, and helping them reach their fullest potential. True success, for me, is measured not just by outcomes, but by the positive impact I leave on the people and spaces around me.
