Dr. Tomeka Hill-Thomas is a seasoned global HR executive, a strategic advisor and a people analytics expert with over 20 years of expertise in aligning HR strategy with business goals across multiple industries, including retail, manufacturing, and professional services. She is passionate about data and is a proven visionary in leading workforce transformations, optimizing talent productivity, and enhancing employee experiences using data, AI, and advanced analytics. She’s also a distinguished speaker and author with an extensive publication history in people analytics and labor economics. Dr. Hill-Thomas has a B.S. in Mathematics from Duke University, a M.S. in Statistics from American University and a Ph.D. in Economics from Cornell University. She resides in the Chicago area with her husband and children.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to the combination of strong academic training and hands-on experience gained working with major management consulting firms alongside truly exceptional colleagues, who helped prepare me to eventually start my own business. I'm also deeply grateful to the mentor who took a chance on me and supported me along the way.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best advice I've received is to always be respectful and put your best foot forward when meeting someone new, because you never know when that one person might open a door for you.
