Her Story

About Tondylayer

I started in the staffing industry and have built my career around the satisfaction of connecting people with opportunities. When I first began, what motivated me most was calling candidates to let them know they got the job - that made my day. As I progressed in my career, I discovered that even without completing my college degree, my experience in the industry has been more than sufficient to advance and succeed. I have never been unable to get a job because of not having a degree, and I feel my hands-on experience makes up for that. At Agile One, I have been recognized for my mentorship abilities, having been rallied to help new team members come on board, both stateside and offshore. I take pride in the compliments I have received regarding my mentorship to younger client services professionals in our organization. I am certified in several third-party VMS platforms including Acceleration VMS, FieldGlass, and Beeline, which are crucial in our day-to-day operations. I embrace ongoing training and accreditations, and I would love to get my CCWP reinstated, as I believe it shows people that you really know your business. Beyond my professional work, I am deeply committed to giving back to my community through volunteer work at Del Mar Gardens of Smyrna, where I spend time on weekends and after hours assisting seniors with everything from activities to dining to delivering packages. For me, networking is second nature - whether I am on the train, in a restaurant, or at the retirement community, I am always connecting with people and discovering opportunities to help someone find work or make a meaningful connection.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say jump. It's an amazing industry to be in. If you're a people person, if you love interacting with individuals, if you enjoy putting people to work - for me, that was my satisfaction. I know everybody has a different motivation, but for me, at the time that I started in the staffing industry, just the satisfaction of putting someone to work, calling them, letting them know that they got the job, that made my day. And of course, as I got older, the commission checks got great as well, so it's an amazing industry to be in. The money is great, you make lifelong friends, you grow your network. I would definitely encourage a young lady to entertain this field. I really think that they would enjoy it.
