Her Story
About Toni
Toni Griffiths is an entrepreneur, self-help advocate, and youth development professional based in Coney Island, Brooklyn, New York. She is the founder and owner of Tag Yourself In, a self-help brand and community platform she launched in 2020 during the pandemic. What began as a podcast became a safe space for conversations around self-esteem, self-awareness, personal growth, and encouraging individuals to recognize their value and voice. Alongside building Tag Yourself In, Toni works as an Activity Specialist with HeartShare, where she has been supporting youth development for the past year. Through her role, she helps create engaging activities, puts on plays, and works with young people in the community. Her passion centers on being a self-esteem advocate, especially for children and youth in underdeveloped communities, while promoting confidence, self-awareness, and emotional well-being. She also creates and sells grounding products such as jewelry and incense that align with her focus on mindfulness and personal connection. Toni’s background combines creativity, entrepreneurship, mentorship, and community service. She holds certifications in herbalism, fashion, and business, and has previously worked in social media production and management. She continues to support community initiatives through mentorship and outreach efforts, including work with organizations such as Girls Inc., Propose Me Perfect, and Couture for Change. Outside of her professional work, Toni enjoys spending time at the beach, attending parades, and connecting with friends. Her mission is to continue creating spaces that inspire confidence, encourage open conversations, and empower others to embrace their personal growth.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Toni
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my commitment to giving back to the community, bringing attention to issues that impact society, and empowering women to use their voices. Knowing that my work can make a positive difference motivates me to continue growing and contributing.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received is that hard work and consistent effort lead to meaningful rewards. Success rarely happens overnight, and the results are often a reflection of the dedication and persistence you invest over time.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don’t let challenges discourage you from pursuing your goals. Every career journey comes with obstacles, but growth happens when you keep moving forward. Rather than focusing on setbacks, recognize and celebrate the progress you’ve made and use it as motivation to continue advancing.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges is finding the right balance between striving for excellence and maintaining momentum. While attention to detail is important, there are times when progress requires letting go of perfectionism and focusing on execution. Learning when to refine and when to move forward is an ongoing opportunity for growth.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Consistency, effective communication, continuous learning, and a healthy work environment are the values that matter most to me. I believe these principles foster strong relationships, encourage personal and professional growth, and create a positive foundation for long-term success.
