Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tonya
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my family and growing up in Providence where we didn't have very much. I contribute everything I know now to what I learned growing up in my family lifestyle. Being around people who educated me and provided extra tools in my toolbox pushed and encouraged me to do these things.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice is to network and just be yourself. Go forward with what you feel. I'm all about empowering women to become their own leaders, educating them on how to do better, motivating them, and giving them tools to help themselves. I enjoy following through to ensure they succeed, and I share specific actionable things like how to become a non-attorney agent.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
I don't think there are any challenges because I feel like there's nothing that I can't do that I won't be able to accomplish. I've been through a lot of challenges in life so nothing else phases me anymore. It's just push through. I always look at the negative part and the positive part and decide to go for it.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
My family is important, just being honest. Caring for other people is just part of it. Everything I've done is part of my bringing up.
