Her Story

About Tori

I've been with Juno Search Partners for all 14 years of my career, starting right out of college as a recruiter. I lead the HR and Talent Acquisition practice, a role I've held since around 2015, though my title has evolved over time. I started by partnering with client companies to help them hire HR professionals, and over the years I've taken on more responsibility, growing from managing one recruiter to leading a team of 5-6 recruiters. My typical day starts with a team huddle where we discuss our 15-20 open roles and divide responsibilities. I spend about half my day sourcing talent through job boards, LinkedIn, and networking groups, and the other half interviewing candidates and managing client relationships. I didn't know what I wanted to do when I graduated, but recruiting aligned well with my personality, and I've stayed because Juno is a great organization with people I love working with. Many of us have worked together for over 10 years, and we genuinely care about each other, which creates a wonderful culture.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say just being resilient goes a long way. I think entering into this field can be really tough, and it's a grind at first, but if you stick with it, it all pays off in the end. I've seen the most successful women in this field get to where they are just by being and staying resilient.

02What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The market over the last 2 years has been a little off because a lot of companies are gun-shy on hiring due to concerns about a potential economy crash. Interview processes are taking longer and are more detailed because companies want to make sure they're ready to hire and that they're hiring the perfect person. It's more competitive now, but there's still a lot of opportunity out there and a lot of companies are still hiring, it's just a longer process.
