Her Interview
Ten minutes with Torrie
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to my relationship with Jesus, which has been the foundation of my personal and professional journey. He has guided me throughout every season of my life, providing the strength, wisdom, and opportunities needed to move forward. Everything I do today is rooted in faith and driven by a commitment to follow the calling and purpose I believe He has placed on my life.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I have ever received was to evaluate opportunities based on long-term sustainability, not simply on whether I am capable of taking them on. A former boss encouraged me to consider whether each commitment aligned with my role, my goals, and my ability to maintain balance over time. He wrote the word “sustainability” on a piece of paper as a reminder to thoughtfully assess the opportunities I pursue, and I still keep that note in my home office as a meaningful reminder to make intentional decisions throughout my career.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to first understand and embrace who you are before trying to influence or guide others. Your voice carries greater impact when it comes from a place of self-awareness, authenticity, and experience. Give yourself the time and space to be patient, discerning, and intentional in your decisions, allowing wisdom to develop through each season of growth. Expertise cannot be rushed; it is built through continued learning, experience, and a commitment to becoming the best version of yourself.
04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the greatest opportunities in my field is recognizing how every season of life, including unexpected detours and challenges, can serve as preparation for the work we are called to do. My experiences raising children, serving in ministry, developing leadership skills, and gaining wisdom through real-world experiences have all shaped the perspective I bring to my work today. These moments have equipped me to better support others in discovering, refining, and communicating their own stories with authenticity, purpose, and impact.
05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are authenticity, honesty, healthy boundaries, vulnerability, and integrity. I believe trust is built when we are willing to be genuine, transparent, and open with others. Vulnerability creates deeper connections, while integrity means consistently living in alignment with the values and principles we represent. These values guide how I communicate, lead, and build meaningful relationships with others.
