Tracey Runeare

Tracey Runeare has dedicated over 30 years to education, beginning as a high school teacher before advancing to assistant principal and currently serving as a principal for approximately 10 to 12 years. At her current high school of 2,200 students and over 200 staff members, she oversees the educational program, school culture and climate, safety protocols, and ensures academic success for every student. Motivated by her own challenging high school experience, Runeare emphasizes inclusivity and belonging, working to eliminate barriers like fees for activities, supplies, and advanced placement tests, a focus informed by her doctoral dissertation on fees in public schools. She strives to create a shared school identity and pride, helping all students feel seen, appreciated, and engaged in their learning community.
