After starting her professional career as a project coordinator at Johnson Controls, she advanced to project manager and program manager roles, further enhancing her qualifications by obtaining an MBA through night school. Traci is most proud of achieving her PMP certification. She attributes her success to the strong foundation and mentorship provided by her family, particularly her parents and siblings. In both her professional and personal life, Traci values integrity, reliability, and an easygoing approach that includes having fun. She views the evolution of AI as an opportunity for project managers to work smarter and improve daily operations rather than a challenge.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Traci

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my family, especially my mom and dad who provided a good foundation and examples, and my siblings who served as leaders and mentors, always challenging me to do more and be better.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

I would say to never stop chasing a dream if you can achieve it. There's going to be roadblocks or your inner voice telling you that you can't do something, but you just gotta break that down and try. If any opportunity comes to you, take the chance even if it's scary or out of your comfort zone. Stay open to opportunities that come your way.

03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The evolution of AI is shaping the workforce. Instead of seeing it as a challenge, project managers can use it as an opportunity to work smarter, not harder, and improve what we do day-to-day.

04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity is key - if you say something, do something. Being reliable, easygoing, and having fun while living are also important values in both work and personal life.
