Her Story
About Tracy
Tracy Silva has spent 21 years working in advocacy, with a career shaped by her own experience navigating the family court system as a single parent. What began as a personal fight to protect her children through a contentious custody matter in a small community evolved into a broader mission of exposing procedural and systemic abuses within judicial institutions. Over the past two decades, she has built a reputation for tenacity, using her firsthand knowledge of the court system to challenge practices she views as biased, retaliatory, and, at times, coordinated across cases.
In recent years, Silva has extended her advocacy beyond family court to protect her elderly father, who she says has become the target of the same individuals connected to her earlier custody battles, this time through probate and conservatorship proceedings. Her work in this space has led her to identify troubling patterns she describes as systemic misuse of the court process, spanning both elder and child welfare cases, and she has been vocal about the potential for such systems to be exploited for financial gain or worse. Her efforts to document and expose these practices reflect a deeper commitment to transparency and accountability within institutions meant to protect the vulnerable.
Grounded in the belief that education is the most powerful tool a person can carry, a philosophy she credits to her grandfather, Silva approaches her advocacy with persistence and purpose. Outside of her professional pursuits, she finds balance through painting, photography, and cycling. Above all, she remains dedicated to protecting children and elders alike, driven by the conviction that continued learning and unwavering tenacity are essential to creating lasting change within the systems she works to reform.
Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tracy
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a lifelong commitment to education. My grandfather instilled in me the belief that continuous learning is essential, and that mindset has been the foundation of my ability to persist and advocate effectively over the years.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
The best advice I can offer is to never stop learning. Continue your education, because it's the one thing nobody can ever take away from you. That lesson, passed down from my grandfather, has guided everything I've done in my advocacy work.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges I see is the systemic corruption and procedural misuse within court systems, particularly in probate, conservatorship, and child protection processes. I'm especially concerned about how these systems can be exploited in ways that facilitate child trafficking, and how prolonged litigation can lead to financial ruin or loss of property for the individuals caught in these fights.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Lifelong education, tenacity in advocacy, and protecting vulnerable people, particularly children and elders, are the values that matter most to me. These principles guide both my professional work and how I approach my personal life.
