About Tram

Tram Le is a tax professional and Certified Public Accountant who founded a boutique tax firm this year to serve business owners, entrepreneurs, and startups with tax compliance and proactive planning. Tram brings approximately 10 years of experience, having previously worked at major firms including Deloitte and KPMG, where Tram developed deep expertise in federal taxation. Tram's areas of focus include entity restructuring, multi-state issues, R&D tax credits, equity compensation, and IRS resolutions. Tram also holds Enrolled Agent status and a Master's degree in Taxation. Tram attributes professional success to building technical knowledge through structured big-firm training before launching the practice, allowing for better client support without learning on the job. Tram values clear communication and responsiveness, aiming to avoid the communication gaps clients often experience elsewhere.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Tram

01What do you attribute your success to?

I think because I have built my years of experience working in tax technical knowledge. I didn't come right out of school and start the firm. I did my time at a big firm, and they have a really good training program, and kind of pay my due. So when I've been through the learning part, now I can help my clients better rather than learning and doing as you go.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Don’t wait until you feel completely ready. Some of the biggest opportunities in my career came from saying yes first and figuring out the rest along the way. You’re often more capable than you give yourself credit for.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Do not be fixated on one path. Be adaptable, because anything can happen. Career is not one thing that's gonna be your entire life, it can be a different path. Just be adaptable and know when to adapt to the situation and move forward.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Big firms move very slowly with layers of people. With technology and AI, there are more opportunities for smaller firms to move very fast with AI and technology to implement it fast, and understand how the tax technical part and technology part can work together.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

In my work life, transparent. I try to be responsive to my client. A lot of the time, I have clients coming from other firms saying that they feel like they're in a black hole, not knowing where their return is, or there's not enough communication, so I try to be responsive and try to turn the work around within a reasonable time. And that's the same thing with personal life too. Communication is one of the most important skills.
