Her Interview

Ten minutes with Trina

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to my grandmother's example of servant leadership, as well as my faith, humility, and commitment to continuous learning. I believe true success comes from Servant Leadership. By serving others and helping them grow.

The Serbobie Green Legacy is dedicated to inspiring generations to live with faith, love, compassion, and service. Guided by the belief that our greatest purpose is to help others succeed, we strive to empower individuals, strengthen families, and uplift communities through mentorship, education, leadership, and acts of kindness. Her life reminds us that true greatness is measured not by what we achieve for ourselves, but by the lives we touch, the hope we inspire, and the legacy of love we leave behind.

"Leave every life better than you found it." and "Reach out and touch somebody hand, make this world a better place if you can" Inspired by the legacy of my grandmother Serbobie Green

My success has been built on a foundation of integrity, resilience, faith, and a commitment to serving others. Throughout my career, I remained focused on continuous learning, operational excellence, and leading by example.

I embraced change, welcomed new challenges, and consistently delivered results while building high-performing teams. I earned trust by treating people with respect, listening with empathy, and making decisions rooted in fairness and accountability.

As a woman in a traditionally male-dominated industry, I chose to see obstacles as opportunities to grow, inspire, and open doors for others. I believe leadership is not measured by titles, but by the positive impact we have on the people we serve and the leaders we develop.

My success is also rooted in:

  • Faith and perseverance through every season.
  • A relentless commitment to safety and operational excellence.
  • Building and mentoring future leaders.
  • Championing diversity, inclusion, and opportunities for women in transportation.
  • Lifelong learning and personal growth.
  • Creating lasting partnerships and meaningful relationships.
  • Giving back to the community through mentorship, philanthropy, and servant leadership.
  • Leading with humility, authenticity, and purpose.

After 36 years, my greatest achievement is not the positions I held, it's the lives I've impacted, the leaders I've developed, and the legacy I continue to build through Divine2Win.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

One of the best pieces of career advice I ever received was: "Never let your title define your leadership, let your character, your work ethic, and the way you treat people define your legacy."

That advice stayed with me throughout my 36-year career in transportation and supply chain leadership. It reminded me that promotions may open doors, but integrity, consistency, and the ability to develop others are what sustain long-term success.

I also learned that every role is an opportunity to grow. Whether you're leading a team of two or two thousand, give your best, stay curious, and never stop learning. Build relationships, seek mentors, welcome feedback, and don't be afraid to take on assignments that stretch you beyond your comfort zone. Most importantly, remember that success is not measured solely by what you accomplish, it's measured by how many people you inspire, mentor, and empower along the way.

When you help others succeed, your own legacy becomes far greater than any title you could ever hold. Be Yourself! Believe in Yourself!

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Transportation and supply chain are the backbone of our economy. Every product you purchase, every package delivered, and every community served depends on leaders who are willing to solve problems, adapt to change, and lead with integrity. There is a place for you in this industry.

My advice is simple:

Believe you belong. Don't let anyone make you question your value because of your gender. Confidence is built through preparation, continuous learning, and showing up every day ready to grow.

Never stop learning. Technology is transforming transportation through artificial intelligence, automation, electric vehicles, and data analytics. Stay curious, earn certifications, seek mentors, and always be a student of the industry.

Lead with excellence. Your reputation is your greatest asset. Be dependable, communicate effectively, keep your commitments, and let your work speak before your title does.

Build relationships. Success is never achieved alone. Surround yourself with mentors, sponsors, and a strong professional network. Don't be afraid to ask questions, and when it's your turn, reach back and help another woman climb.

Embrace challenges. Some of your greatest opportunities will come disguised as difficult assignments. Volunteer for projects that stretch your abilities. Growth happens outside your comfort zone.

Prioritize safety and integrity. Whether you're behind the wheel, managing logistics, leading operations, or serving in the boardroom, never compromise your values. People may forget what you accomplished, but they will always remember your character.

Take care of yourself. This industry can be demanding. Protect your physical, mental, and spiritual well-being. A healthy leader makes better decisions and inspires others.

Finally, remember this: Your voice matters. Your perspective matters. Your leadership matters. The transportation and supply chain industry doesn't just need more women, it needs women who are bold enough to innovate, courageous enough to lead, and committed enough to leave the industry better than they found it.

Be bold. Be unstoppable. You're remarkable. --- Trina Norman

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Transportation and supply chain are experiencing one of the most significant transformations in history. The organizations that will thrive are those willing to embrace innovation while continuing to invest in people.

Biggest Challenges

1. Workforce Development & Talent Shortage

One of our greatest challenges is attracting and retaining the next generation of drivers, technicians, warehouse professionals, and supply chain leaders. We must create clear career pathways and continue developing diverse talent, especially women and young professionals.

2. Technology & Artificial Intelligence

Artificial Intelligence, automation, predictive analytics, robotics, and autonomous technologies are changing how we operate. The challenge isn't whether technology is coming—it's preparing our workforce to lead alongside it.

3. Leadership Development

Many organizations promote high performers into leadership roles without equipping them with the coaching, communication, and emotional intelligence skills needed to build engaged, high-performing teams. Leadership development is no longer optional—it's essential.

4. Supply Chain Resilience

Global disruptions, geopolitical uncertainty, weather events, cybersecurity threats, and changing customer expectations require organizations to become more agile and resilient than ever before.

5. Safety & Well-Being

Safety remains the foundation of our industry. Beyond physical safety, organizations must also prioritize mental wellness, fatigue management, and creating cultures where employees feel valued and empowered to speak up.

Biggest Opportunities

1. Executive Coaching

Organizations are investing more than ever in executive coaching because they recognize that strong leaders create strong cultures. Coaching helps leaders improve communication, decision-making, accountability, and organizational performance.

2. Women in Leadership

There has never been a better time for women to lead in transportation and supply chain. Companies recognize that diverse leadership teams drive better innovation, stronger financial performance, and more inclusive workplaces.

3. Digital Transformation

Technology offers incredible opportunities to improve safety, increase efficiency, reduce costs, optimize routes, and make better data-driven decisions. Leaders who embrace technology will shape the future of our industry.

4. Building the Next Generation

Mentoring students, partnering with schools, and creating internship and apprenticeship opportunities will strengthen the industry's future workforce. Investing in young people today ensures long-term success tomorrow.

5. Purpose-Driven Leadership

Today's employees want more than a paycheck—they want purpose. Leaders who invest in people, communities, and servant leadership will build organizations where employees choose to stay and grow.

My Vision

After spending more than 36 years in transportation, I've learned that trucks move freight—but leaders move people.

The future of transportation, trucking, and supply chain will not be defined solely by technology. It will be defined by courageous leaders who embrace innovation, prioritize safety, develop people, and build cultures where everyone has the opportunity to succeed.

My mission through Divine2Win is to help organizations and leaders navigate change, inspire excellence, and create lasting impact—because when we invest in people, we transform industries.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that guide my work and personal life are the same values that have sustained me throughout my 36-year career in transportation and continue to shape my mission through Divine2Win.

Faith is my foundation. My relationship with God guides my decisions, strengthens me through challenges, and reminds me to lead with humility, compassion, and purpose. My family is my heartbeat.

Integrity is non-negotiable. I believe your reputation is your most valuable asset. I strive to do the right thing, even when no one is watching, because trust is earned through consistency and character.

Service is at the heart of my leadership. Leadership is not about titles or recognition—it's about serving others, developing people, and helping them discover their full potential. I measure success not only by what I achieve, but by how many lives I positively impact along the way.

Excellence has been my standard throughout my career. Whether leading transportation operations, coaching executives, consulting organizations, or speaking to students, I believe every opportunity deserves my very best.

Continuous Growth keeps me moving forward. I embrace lifelong learning, innovation, and change because growth happens when we challenge ourselves to become better than we were yesterday.

Relationships matter. I value collaboration, respect, and creating meaningful connections. Success is never a solo journey—it is built through strong teams, trusted mentors, supportive family, and genuine partnerships.

Finally, I believe in leaving a legacy. My purpose is bigger than my career. Through Divine2Win, mentoring, executive coaching, community service, and advocating for women in transportation, I hope to inspire others to believe in themselves, pursue excellence, and lead with courage. At the end of the day, I want to be remembered not just for the positions I held, but for the people I encouraged, the doors I helped open, and the lives I helped transform.

My personal motto is simple: Be Bold. Be Unstoppable. You're Remarkable.
