About Trina

Trina Poulsen is the founder of Infinite Hygiene Consulting based in Seattle, Washington. With 44 years of experience in the dental industry, she began her career as a dental assistant before becoming a dental hygienist, where she worked in perio immediately after school. She later served as president of the Washington Dental Hygienists Association, taught at Shoreline Community College for four years, and acted as a mentor and thought advisor at Lake Washington Technical College. Ten years ago, she launched her consulting company, Infinite Hygiene Consulting, which offers dental practice coaching with a focus on workforce development, mindset changes, systems, and processes. Poulsen holds a bachelor's degree in dental hygiene, laser certification, and Perioscope training, and she has studied at the Arbinger Institute on outward mindset. She is a member of the ADHA and partners with Delta Dental of Washington on workforce initiatives, including facilitating dental career discovery programs and managing state job boards. She also volunteers at the Seattle King County Dental free clinic and serves on the membership committee of the Washington Dental Hygienists Association.

01What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Never stop learning and be more like a river than a rock. Lead with curiosity and be open to other people's opinions.

02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Take chances. Step out of your comfort zone. Set your goals high. Say yes more than you say no. Believe in yourself. Find a mentor.

03What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Integrity, learner's mind, curiosity, honesty, being a trustworthy resource and steady friend.
