About Trinity
Trinity Downing has spent 21 years in aerospace design as a design engineer, where she leads different teams depending on the function and workload. Her career began in the military, serving in Desert Shield and Desert Storm, before transitioning to aerospace after an injury led her back to school. She earned her degree 20 years after graduating high school through CLEP tests. Downing is certified in Unigraphics and was a former instructor for CATIA, which certified her by default, and she also holds Flame certification. She has been recognized as an expert in her company in 2025 and is on the path to becoming an Associate Technical Fellow. Outside of work, she volunteers with Sauterson Area for All, supporting LGBTQ and minority youth, and previously taught hunter's education with Montana Fish and Wildlife and Parks.

01What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Don't be afraid to speak up. Our young male engineers have no problem speaking up, but female engineers step back. If you have the next big idea, open your mouth and say it. Be fearless.
