Her Story

About Trinity

I've been in my field for a little over 2 years now. I graduated with my master's degree in 2024 from an accelerated one-year program, which usually takes two years but I completed it in one year through a lot of discipline, hard work, late nights, and early mornings. The classes were only 6 weeks and I was taking 4 classes at a time, so the workload was intense. After that, I took a short break for health reasons, but then went back to school. Right now, I'm currently pursuing my Master's of Public Administration because I have a strong passion for leadership and service, making a meaningful impact within my community. I want to use that degree with my business administrative degree to help organizations and communities grow effectively and compassionately. I work as a manager at a wellness spa and wellness center, where I've been for a little over 5 years now. My typical day involves calling clients, letting them know about appointments, giving them brief overviews of what the appointments will be about, handling medical questions to make sure clients are suitable for services, managing employees, and making sure everything is cohesive and professional. I really want to take this to a teacher position because I always love to talk with others and give my insight on something I'm really passionate about, whether it's in the wellness and fitness community or teaching at universities.

01What do you attribute your success to?

I believe what shaped my journey throughout all of this was my faith in God, believing in Him, knowing that I could get through this. My family has been the backbone, pushing me to go even further. My mother didn't finish college, my father didn't finish college, but they wanted the best for their children. So they made sure that not only I did it, but my brother did it as well. My brother was the first gen, and I am after him. Everyone in my community that helped raise me, especially in church, always told me I can do whatever I want to do, as long as I keep God first. So most definitely, it's been my family, it's been my faith in God and everything that's motivated me to get to where I am. Through all of this, it was my faith and my beliefs to keep me going and pushing to grow and develop new skills and tackle new challenges.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I ever received was that you do not have to compare yourself to others. Your work speaks for itself. Just believe in you, trust in God, and everything else will fall into place.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Even though you want to achieve great things and get your degrees, please take your time. Don't rush, even though you want to get it and everything like that. Health is wealth, too. Health is very, very important. Take care of yourself. Breathe. Tell yourself everything will be all right when you're faced with hardship and situations where the adrenaline is rising. Just slow down and breathe, and do deep breathing. It really helps your body. Take the time to get to where you want to get to, but do it in a pace that your body can handle it. I would want to be seen as someone who can encourage others, because if I can do it, I know that the next person can do it if you put your mind to it. No matter what you're going through, it will get better if you just keep a positive mindset, no matter what is being thrown at you, no matter what is going on in your life. Know that you can do it if you continue to stay the course and stay focused.
