What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success to a commitment to integrity, continuous growth, and a willingness to embrace change. I have never been content to stay comfortable—I actively seek out new challenges, take calculated risks, and push myself to achieve more both personally and professionally. With over 20 years of experience in institutional asset management, I help individuals and families achieve their financial goals. My track record includes growing multi-billion-dollar investment programs, cultivating strategic client relationships, and delivering results in complex market environments. Today, I bring a perspective that few advisors can match—shaped by years of working with large-scale portfolios, municipalities, and institutional boards. I genuinely enjoy helping people reach their financial objectives and take pride in building meaningful relationships with clients. I am actively involved in networking and prospecting, participating in organizations across St. Louis, collaborating with estate attorneys who refer clients, and working closely with families to provide guidance on a deeper, more personal level.
What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I ever received came from my mentor, Maureen Decker. She brought me into outside sales, recognizing potential in me that others didn’t see. Her guidance and belief in my abilities helped lay the foundation for my career and gave me the confidence to pursue opportunities I might not have otherwise considered.
One of my proudest career moments was securing a $100 million account with the Alaska Retirement Board. Achievements like this reflect the hard work, strategic thinking, and persistence that have guided me throughout my professional journey.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
My advice to young women entering this industry is to work hard, stay ambitious, and continually seek growth. Earn your opportunities through dedication and results—don’t expect anything to be handed to you. Be willing to take risks, embrace challenges, and remain open to new possibilities; often, the greatest opportunities come from stepping outside your comfort zone.
What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
One of the biggest challenges—and opportunities—in our field today is navigating an increasingly complex and dynamic financial landscape while delivering personalized, holistic solutions to clients. At Northern Trust, we collaborate closely with clients and their advisors to provide comprehensive wealth management services for individuals and families, privately held businesses, family offices, and foundations and endowments. This collaborative approach allows us to anticipate client needs, adapt to changing markets, and uncover opportunities that others might overlook, ultimately helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The values that guide me in both my work and personal life center on integrity, compassion, and service. In my professional life, I am committed to doing what’s best for my clients, taking my fiduciary responsibilities seriously, and always acting ethically. I strive to instill compassion and respect in all interactions, ensuring that my clients feel supported and understood.
Giving back is also a core part of my life. I am actively involved with Hearts and Hope, a Lutheran-based nonprofit supporting children in Uganda with education and daily needs, and I look forward to contributing to the St. Louis Children’s Hospital board in the near future.
Outside of work and volunteer commitments, I treasure spending time with my three teenage boys, who keep me inspired with their energy and dedication to sports. I also enjoy traveling, sharing dinners and wine with friends and family, working out on my Peloton, and indulging in a little shopping. These personal pursuits keep me balanced and energized, allowing me to bring my best self to every area of my life.
