Her Interview
Ten minutes with Trisha
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute a lot of my success to my family, specifically the women in my family, the matriarchy has always been there. My mom and my grandma have always been at every piano recital, every graduation. I also attribute a lot to my professors in my master's degree at University of New Haven who were encouraging and empowering.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
At a Women in Leadership conference, a leader from the Boys and Girls Club of Rhode Island told me that imposter syndrome doesn't exist. If you don't acknowledge it and don't believe it's applying to you, then it won't. You are exactly where you're meant to be right now.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Take everything with a grain of salt, keep rolling with the punches, and most importantly, you're doing great. I don't think enough people hear that early on in their career. Love what you do because you spend 40 hours a week doing it.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Honesty, accountability, respect, and the ability to constantly learn and grow or seek out learning and growth. If you're honest and accountable and respectful, and always willing to learn more, you're going to do great for yourself, your organization, and extend to your community.
