About Trisha

I've spent the last 25 to 30 years working as an internal consultant in change, primarily in academic medical centers. I hold a bachelor's degree in health education and earned my master's in change leadership from Columbia Teachers College. After years in New York, I've been in Chapel Hill, North Carolina for 8 years, though I like to say I've exhaled for the meantime rather than fully retired. I founded Bahay Kubo, which in Filipino means a house or hut that shields from extreme heat or typhoons - it's extremely resilient and lightweight with no rooms, so you can't hide from yourself or your family. My work focuses on leaders of all ages, and through my recent experiments, I've discovered it affects not just the leaders but their entire families. We now work with children who bring their parents into wellness sanctuaries to do activities like journaling, giving whole families the opportunity to experience wellness they can bring back home. I offer both virtual coaching, which expanded during the pandemic, and physical wellness sanctuary setups with a small staff and volunteers. As a leader in healthcare who is neurodivergent, I bring a unique perspective to my work. I'm building this practice one bamboo pole at a time, following the Asian model of thinking in decades rather than the American pattern of four-year cycles, focusing on strategic planning, sustainability, and succession planning.
