Her Story

About Trisha

Trisha Mosho is a behavioral health professional serving as a Behavioral Intervention Specialist at New Hope Agency in Pocatello, Idaho. She began her role shortly after graduating from Idaho State University (ISU) in May 2025 with a bachelor’s degree in Sociology, including a concentration in Criminology, a minor in Psychology, and an Academic Certificate in Forensic Behavioral Science. Her educational background, combined with her passion for advocacy and human services, has shaped her commitment to supporting individuals and communities through compassionate, evidence-based care.

In her current role, Trisha works with children on the autism spectrum by implementing behavioral support strategies, collecting and analyzing session data, monitoring progress through structured trials, and documenting outcomes related to individualized goals. Prior to this position, she gained experience in community mental health as a Case Manager with Mental Health Specialists LLC, where she supported clients through needs assessments, resource coordination, and trauma-informed care practices. She has also contributed to student success initiatives at Idaho State University through her work with TRIO programs, facilitating workshops and mentoring students to help them achieve academic and personal goals.

Trisha’s dedication to helping others is deeply inspired by her late mother, who encouraged her to make a positive difference in the lives of those around her. Looking ahead, she aspires to earn a Master of Social Work and become a therapist specializing in domestic violence and sexual trauma. She believes that self-advocacy, adaptability, resilience, and empathy are essential qualities for creating meaningful change, and she continues to build her career around empowering others and providing compassionate support to those in need.

Ten minutes with Trisha

01What do you attribute your success to?

I attribute my success to the encouragement, guidance, and belief my mother had in me throughout her life. She instilled in me the confidence to use my abilities to help others, create brighter futures, and make a meaningful impact in the world. Her unwavering support and belief in my potential continue to motivate me to pursue my goals with compassion, resilience, and determination. I carry her values with me in my work and strive to honor her legacy by making a positive difference in the lives of those I serve.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

The best career advice I have ever received is to always advocate for myself, because I cannot effectively advocate for others if I do not first recognize and communicate my own value, needs, and goals. This advice has encouraged me to build confidence, embrace my strengths, and use my voice while continuing to support and empower the individuals and communities I serve. Self-advocacy has been an essential part of my personal and professional growth, allowing me to become a stronger advocate for others.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

The advice I would give to young women entering my industry is to remain adaptable, resilient, and confident in their abilities. Believe in yourself and trust that you are capable of achieving your goals when you put your mind, dedication, and passion into your work. Challenges are opportunities for growth, and by staying committed, embracing change, and leading with purpose, you can create meaningful impact and build a successful career.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

One of the biggest challenges and opportunities in my field right now is helping children stay on track while addressing behavioral challenges that may arise. Every child has unique needs, and providing consistent support, understanding, and effective intervention strategies is essential to helping them succeed. I see this as an opportunity to make a meaningful difference by building strong relationships, identifying individual strengths, and creating environments where children feel supported, understood, and empowered to reach their full potential.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

The values that are most important to me in both my work and personal life are family, self-belief, perseverance, and empathy. I believe that even when challenges arise, maintaining confidence in yourself, showing grit, and continuing to move forward can lead to meaningful opportunities and positive outcomes. I also value treating others with compassion and understanding, recognizing that everyone has their own experiences, struggles, and journeys that may not always be visible. By avoiding judgment, practicing empathy, and putting myself in others’ shoes, I strive to support and care for those around me while making a positive impact in both my personal and professional life.
