Her Story

About Trisha

Trisha Nishikawa serves as office manager at Reliable Construction, the family company in Bellevue, Washington, that she has supported for the last 10 years. Her professional journey began in the fashion industry in 2005, where she built a career that included runway and magazine work after overcoming a life-altering accident, before transitioning into finance approximately two years ago. She holds an associate's degree in pre-law from Dominican University of California with minors in political science and psychology, along with licenses in lashes, personal styling, and tanning, and is currently pursuing a health and wellness certification. Trisha's main areas of expertise are customer service and leadership, and she is a member of the Women's Fashion Entrepreneurship group. She attributes her success to her family and her faith, values respect, hard work, and passion, and advises young women to follow their hearts, avoid failing themselves, and get back up if they fall. She has volunteered for 10 to 12 years with the Battered Women's Homeless Shelter and has helped organize charity auctions supporting children with diseases.

Her Interview

Ten minutes with Trisha

01What do you attribute your success to?

My family for sure. They handed down a family business and have always been there for their kids, not listening to doctors but seeing themselves. Prayer and God got them through that and it's getting me through life.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

From my first manager who hired me when I wasn't even old enough to work. She said she saw it in my eyes that I was gonna be somebody. She also said I could sell a rock.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Follow your heart and whatever inspires you. Don't fail yourself. If you fall, just get back up.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

Challenges: People not seeing me as a go-getter due to my accident, jealousy. Opportunities: Learn, try again, have confidence in yourself. Look at life half full but know anything can happen.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Respect, hard work, and passion.
