Her Interview
Ten minutes with Tuesday
01What do you attribute your success to?
I attribute my success first to my faith in God and then to the unwavering support of my husband. I grew up in a small town in a working-class family, and there wasn’t a predetermined path laid out for me to enter the film industry. Much of what I have accomplished has required faith—the faith to believe that more was possible, the courage to pursue opportunities I couldn’t always see clearly, and the willingness to take risks, including relocating to Los Angeles to pursue this career.
My husband has been instrumental in that journey. He believed in me enough to encourage my career pivot, support our move, and invest in my education by putting me through film school. His encouragement and sacrifice gave me the space to pursue what I believed God was calling me to do.
I also attribute my success to remaining teachable, building genuine relationships, and being willing to do the work. I’ve learned that faith can open your eyes to the opportunity, but you still have to be willing to walk through the door. Everything I have built has come from a combination of faith, support, perseverance, and having the courage to take the leap.
02What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Always remain teachable. Never assume that you know everything or that you can predict exactly how your journey will unfold. Sometimes the door to your greatest opportunity will not look the way you imagined—it may come through an internship, a relocation, starting over, or an opportunity that initially feels smaller than where you believe you are headed.
Understand that purpose often comes with turbulence, resistance, and pushback. Difficulty does not automatically mean you are on the wrong path.
Spend time truly connecting with yourself, understanding your assignment, and discovering what you were created to do. When you pursue money before purpose, you may achieve financial success and still find yourself unfulfilled. Instead, focus on becoming aligned with your gifts, values, calling, and purpose.
When you are aligned with what you were created to do, you can build from a place of meaning rather than simply chasing opportunities. Trust that prosperity can become a byproduct of walking faithfully and consistently in your purpose.
03What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?
The business is changing drastically with major corporations shifting, which evens the playing field. This creates opportunities for independent producers and filmmakers to collaborate and become the next generation of influence. The gates are falling, so now is the time to greenlight yourself, collaborate with the right people, and move forward without asking permission.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I am a person of integrity who believes deeply in doing good business and treating people well. My values are rooted in my upbringing in a pastor’s family and within the church, where I learned the importance of serving others, operating with integrity, and doing what is right even when no one is watching.
I believe that the good we put into the world has a way of coming back to us. Because of that, I value good-hearted people, fair and ethical business practices, and building genuine relationships. You never know the lasting impact an interaction, opportunity, or act of kindness may have on someone’s life.
Children are especially dear to my heart, particularly children in the foster care system and those who have experienced the loss of a parent or loved one. I have a natural heart for people and genuinely enjoy pouring into others through education, teaching, mentorship, encouragement, and service. At the same time, I remain a lifelong learner and value every opportunity to grow and gain new understanding.
Ultimately, I strive to move according to purpose rather than being driven solely by financial gain. While I understand the importance of building successful and sustainable businesses, I want the work I do, the relationships I build, and the opportunities I create to have meaning beyond money. For me, success is also measured by the people I positively impact and the legacy I leave behind.
