About Tynishs
Tynishs Baylor serves as Office Coordinator for Housekeeping at a hotel, where she has worked since November 2015. In this role, she manages night shift operations including room turn-down assignments, guest calls, key management, and coordination with engineering teams. Baylor began her hospitality career nine years ago and advanced from lobby attendant and room attendant to supervisor before securing her current position. She earned her GED after dropping out of high school and attended Ashford University for a time studying psychology. Prior to her hotel work, Baylor served as a residential counselor for homeless pregnant girls. She attributes her professional success to developing a genuine love for the department and mastering every aspect of housekeeping operations. Baylor emphasizes the importance of the three F's, family, faith, and friends, with family being paramount in both her work and personal life. She advises staying focused, not giving up, and remaining confident, and encourages young women entering the industry to keep pushing forward without stopping once they secure a position.

01What do you attribute your success to?
I grew to love it. I can't get out of the department for nothing. I know everything about housekeeping.
02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Stay focused, don't give up, and be confident.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Keep pushing forward. If you get the job, don't stop there. Keep going. You have to be confident in yourself.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
The three F's: family, faith, and friends. Family is most important in both work and personal life.
