What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
The best career advice I’ve received has come from the mentors and family members who’ve guided me along the way. Leaders like Floree, Dio Pory, and Dr. Hakeem Lucas, along with my parents, have each shaped how I lead, serve, and grow professionally. Their guidance taught me to stay grounded, lead with purpose, and never stop developing both personally and professionally.
What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
I’d tell young women entering this industry to take the step and do your research, but don’t wait for perfection before you begin. You don’t have to have everything figured out to get started — momentum builds confidence. If an idea or goal keeps coming back to you, that’s your sign to go after it. Stay persistent, trust yourself, and don’t give up.
What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
I value community, legacy, and creating opportunities for others, especially in support of HBCUs and the students they serve. Empowering Black women through storytelling, mentorship, and career pathways in marketing and communications is central to my work. I also believe strongly in the power of connection, leadership development, and women supporting one another as we grow professionally and personally.
