Valarie Ambrosia is a versatile image consultant and cosmetologist based in New York, NY, with about 10 years of experience in the field. She specializes in cosmetology including hair, makeup, and skin care, as well as fashion styling, and has worked with fashion stylists and a jewelry brand. She has participated in New York Fashion Week and contributed to major publications such as Harper's Bazaar and Elle Magazine. She has also served as a creative director for a magazine. Valarie holds a cosmetology license after attending cosmetology school following high school and some college. 02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?
Always stay in school, continuously intern, show up, get a bachelor's degree, and gain real-world experience through internships which can be respected even more than a master's.
03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?
Get certified or educated in your field like cosmetology for an edge, maintain integrity for yourself, be authentic, and support other women to build each other up.
04What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?
Integrity, authenticity, compassion for people being themselves, and giving back to the community.
