About Valerie
Valerie Harris is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Chicago, Illinois. She founded her private practice, V. Harris Holistic Health Solutions, in 2022. Harris began her career in case management and as a substance abuse counselor around 2009. She earned her undergraduate degree from DePaul University in 2009, obtained a certification in alcohol and drug use from Trinity, and completed a master's degree. She received her professional license as a clinical social worker in December 2020. Her practice emphasizes mental health wellness, holistic healing, and intergenerational trauma, especially among Black women. Harris created the non-profit Soul Therapy, also known as The Makings of You, which includes pillars such as Movement as Medicine and the Doris Tolliver Scholarship. She values community, faith, family, her sober community, and tennis community. Harris advises young women entering the field to find their purpose and niche, living their passion and purpose daily.

Find your purpose and your niche. When you do that, you find yourself. It's about finding your passion and your purpose, because once you find that you live your passion and purpose daily.
