Her Interview

Ten minutes with Valerie

01What do you attribute your success to?

Positive Outlook in life , personal accountability and tenacity. I wake up every and see everyday as a blessing and see a fresh new day. I am an active type personality who enjoys being outdoors and a exercise enthusiast. I have completed many marathons, half marathons down to 5k's. I did the Pikes Peak Ascent back in 2023. So, I'm always looking at ways to improve myself, my health.

My main purpose and value is found when I am aligned with where God wants me to serve other people whether in my professional or personal life.

02What’s the best career advice you’ve ever received?

Work Hard each day, don't be afraid to make mistakes but learn from them AND be confident in who you are and what value you bring to the table for the organization you are employed at.

03What advice would you give to young women entering your industry?

Make sure to prioritize time early in your career to find a mentor in your field and proactively connect with them quarterly. Build meaningful connections with those who you look up to and see a career path that interests you. Learn to negotiate for yourself and communicate with confidence.

04What are the biggest challenges or opportunities in your field right now?

The growing pressures of work-life balance in a hybrid remote setting with no off button, colliding with performance expectations of company financials and leadership expectations.

Also integrating AI as a tool requires building workflows, processes, procedures, and training, similar to past EMR transitions that still takes a remarkable amount of time to proof the output.

05What values are most important to you in your work and personal life?

Transparency, accountability, helping my teams grow in their own individual career pathing, adding value for clients through a true partnership model, thinking strategically to solve business needs through technology and processes.
