About Vallarie
She is an accomplished mental health counselor, clinician, and program leader with over two decades of experience across university counseling, correctional health, community health, and crisis intervention. Currently serving as a Counselor at the University of South Alabama in Mobile, she provides individual, group, and crisis counseling at the University Student Mental Health Center and coordinates domestic violence and sexual assault programs. Her earlier career includes serving as a Mental Health Clinician at NaphCare, Inc., where she provided mental health services in a correctional setting for over twelve years, as a Licensed Professional Counselor at Franklin Primary Health Center, where she focused on prevention, education, and counseling, and as an HIV Case Manager, where she supported clients for nearly a decade. She also served as a Mental Health Therapist at Corizon Health at the Mobile County Metro Jail and as a Medical Social Worker at Franklin Primary Health Center. Her career reflects a deep commitment to mental health, advocacy, and supporting individuals and communities through compassionate, trauma-informed care.
