Vanesa Vasallo

I began in hospitality back in 2012 as a maid and room attendant after immigrating from Cuba. I studied law in my country but hospitality called me once I began working at a hotel. I learned English and moved to the front desk about a year later. I progressed through managerial roles including guest service manager and assistant general manager. Since 2023 I have been a general manager for different brands including Marriott, Starwood, and currently Hilton franchises. A typical day involves reviewing operations, meeting with department managers, handling financials like accounts receivable and payable, reporting to franchise bosses and owners, and managing revenue strategies and budgets.
